Tasks that can be very different depending on the season and activity of the animals! Duration of the animation: 1h to 2h, visit all year by appointment Adult 6 € Teenager 4 € and for children under 10 free.
It is a forty hectare property located in the heart of Oisans. The setting is perfect for a family or romantic getaway, or even for an outing in the great outdoors with friends. The place is all the more attractive because it offers a panoramic view of the Grandes Rousses massif.
Visitors will find bisons, of course, but also Merino sheep in the Bison Farm of the Goose. Lambs and ewes spend the summer in the mountains between 2,300 and 3,000 meters above sea level in the La Bérarde valley (commune of Saint-Christophe-en-Oisans).
Didier Girard is a member of the “Oisans know-how route”: “an open door to the mountain culture of Uiss, the richness of its heritage and its multiple skills”, can we read in particular on the Oisans site .com. Like many other producers, but also local artisans or artists, our farmer devotes time to share his know-how and passion with the general public in the context of an hour or two animation. Didier and is one of those passionate personalities that we are sure to meet while traveling the "Oisans know-how route".
In Didier Girard’s farm, the bison feed on grass and hay. The farmer takes care not to fatten them. The goal is to offer meat that is rich in protein but contains little cholesterol. It is also a meat rich in iron.
The owner of Ferme des Bisons de l'Oisans offers tender and tasty meat. Visitors will find there the same pieces as in beef: steak, rib, pavé, fondue piece, stew piece, stew piece. Their prices are between 26 and 36 € per kilo.
